Hello. My name is Kim and once upon a time I stayed home with my young son and became restless with what to do with my time, especially when he went off to school. Since I had majored in Fashion Merchandising in college, tailoring and fine sewing was something that I had learned to appreciate and love. Wanting to find a niche where I could make a career by sewing from home, I taught myself everything I could about sewing window treatments and other soft home furnishings. For 15 years I was fortunate to sew for many talented Interiror Designers who would dream up ideas for updating homes and I would sew their ideas into window treatments, pillows, etc.
Fast forward to when my son no longer needed me home after school, I went back to my retail management career, starting out as temporary holiday help at a fashionable retail store in a mall. Because of my experience in management and my maturity, I escalated into several career moves until I ended up as a buyer for a boutique that was located in a full service Salon/Spa in Carmel, IN.
Although I didn't have a lot of extra time on my hands, I had found out about LAG and thought it was the perfect opportunity to use my sewing skills to help a family, who has suffered a devestating loss. It is a beautiful ministry and I'm so glad that I have been through enough life experiences to allow me the desire to want to give back to my community in such a sweet and touching way.
When I'm not working or sewing, I spend time with my husband, Mike, who I have married to for 33 years. I also have a son who is in his early 30s and lives in Los Angeles, CA.
